Please join us this Friday at Babi's Tasting Room at 6:00 pm when Kathleen Sieck will share her insights, tips and techniques on songwriting.  Kathleen will discuss what inspires her musically, explain her approach to writing lyrics, and show us how she composes a  melody to match the verse.  There will be singing, so don't be shy!

About Kathleen Sieck:
Kathleen Sieck has been performing in Southern California since she was a child. She began studying piano at the age of 4 and started performing in musical theater productions soon after, continuing until her early twenties, her clear and distinctive voice winning her many lead roles. After graduating from college, Sieck began composing and arranging music for church and worship. She has enjoyed a music-writing career in Christian music for over 15 years, self-producing  two inspirational albums (You Have My Heart, 1998; Jehpthah's Daughter, 2000) and leading worship for Forest Home Christian Conference Center, Santa Barbara Community Church and as a guest at several southern California churches. Her original children's music and worship music have been enjoyed by hundreds of young children as well as adults.  Most recently, Sieck has written several songs in the Americana genre, drawing inspiration from her country roots in the Santa Ynez Valley, as well as a love of American folk standards and classic rock.  Her lyrically driven music is full of depth and passion and she is an endearing presence on the stage.
Currently, Sieck is finishing an EP which will be released in early March.
