Love thy neighbor. Particularly if you have very few places to go and hide. Except the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean surrounding your tiny atoll in the south Pacific just 500 km. north of Samoa and 800 km. south of the equator.
Please join us this Friday at Babi's Tasting Room at 6:00 pm whenBRYON BASS, Ph.D. Archaeology, will discuss his extensive research on the atoll that is only 5 meters above sea level. With continued global warming and rising ocean levels, the people of Atafu and their way of life is in serious danger.
Bryon will present a multimedia presentation with documentary photos, lecture, discussion, and video.
Bryon Bass has a B.A. in Anthropology (San Diego State University) and a Ph.D. in Archaeology (University of Edinburgh, Scotland).
He has been in archaeological and cultural resources consulting for 15+ years. He is a Research Associate with the University of Zurich, Switzerland (Department of Pre and Proto-History).
