R.S.V.P Now by replying to this email at It’s the most wonderful time of the year, perhaps, but the dawn of the coming season may conjure up that familiar fear of dreaded holiday pounds.  Please join us this Friday at Babi's Tasting Room at 6:00 pm when Kirk and Christy Nordgren will discuss what matters:  fitness, food, and stress.  Kirk Nordgren, general manager and head coach at Carmichael Training Systems in Santa Ynez, coaches a wide variety of athletes toward their performance goals.  Kirk will share about training for endurance sports and dispel some common myths.  He will also discuss cycling in this area and how cars and bikes really can get along.  Christy Nordgren, nutritional therapist and practicing yoga teacher, is passionate about helping people connect the parts to see the whole.  She is a strong promoter of choosing a whole foods diet, finding a realistic relationship with food, and pursuing physical fitness through both endurance sports and yoga. It is all connected. Choosing your lifestyle matters. (Psst! Wine can be a healthy part of the equation!) Kirk holds a masters degree in exercise science from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and Christy received her certification through Nutrition Therapy Institute (Denver).  She is also a 200-hour yoga instructor and currently teaches in Santa Ynez As always - bring questions!

A Spooky & Spirited Weekend

Hello Everyone-
    Babi's Tasting Room definitely brought the Halloween spirit to Little L.A. this weekend with fantastic festivities and unforgettable visitors!

 We kicked the spirit off Friday night, as a full house enjoyed a Macedonian historical & viticulture exploration with our very own Sonja Magdevski.

 Our fabulous winemaker lit up the room via center stage, as she took us back to her roots with many personal memories and Macedonia moments. She even shared a few family recipes & samples of delicious native vino!

Saturday, Babi's Tasting Room held a Spook-tac-ular party for its loyal and amazing club members. 

The costumes were incredible ...blind tastings were the perfect challenge...and even a Triller dance lesson rocked the house!

My grandparents were homewinemakers.  Every villager was a home winemaker because practically everyone grew grapes. And for those too poor to have vineyards, the village collectively pitched in grapes for those families to have wine for the winter. My grandfather always said, "Why would you want to drink water? You don't want water in your boots, do you? Drink wine. (and homemade whiskey, of course.)" I will have some regional wines to sample at the end. In addition, I will also have Macedonian specialties to be enjoyed with wine - homemade ajvar (roasted red pepper spread), Kashkaval and Feta cheese, and other snacks. Bring questions!
