Friday August 16th @ 6 PM   WORDS TO LIVE BY SPEAKER SERIES     Heritage and Legacy - The Historic Dana Adobe  Joe Dana is an educator with the Orcutt Union School District who currently is principal of Olga Reed School in Los Alamos.  Joe also is a fifth-generation California resident whose great-great-grandfather, Captain William Goodwin Dana, was the recipient of a Mexican land grant on the Central Coast.  Joe has written a biography of Captain Dana and also has been actively involved in the restoration of the Dana Adobe in Nipomo.  In his talk at Casa Dumetz, Joe will discuss the life of his great-great-grandfather, local historical sites that pertain to Captain Dana, and the pleasures of researching one’s own family history.
