R.S.V.P Now by replying to this email atsmee@casadumetzwines.com Join us at Babi's Tasting Room where Jennifer Beyer, Incident Commander for the Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue team and volunteer member since 2001, will discuss the team's work and commitment. ABOUT JENNIFER: "I first became interested in joining the search and rescue team when I saw an ad in the Santa Ynez Valley newspaper: "Looking for volunteers". The ad intrigued me because it stated I would be able to hike in the back country, learn new skills, meet new people, and overall, give back something to the community. Following a 6 month academy, I graduated and became a Trainee. Over the next two years, I responded to approximately 150 callouts, all over the county, and assisted other counties in mutual aid for missing hikers, at risk adults, and children. During my third year on the Team I moved up to field member, and then on to rescue member. It was during the next 3 years, that I was an apprentice Incident Commander, and became a full Incident Commander later that year. As an Incident Commander I have directed many operations working with the Fire Department, Forest Service, out of county teams, etc. I have participated in 2 hour searches up to 3 day searches. We have had successful outcomes, and tragic ones. Thankfully many more successful callouts.   On Friday, I hope to talk about the Teams history, current # of callouts, our most noteable searches and rescues, and show some of our specialized equipment.  I also want to give some tips about today's back country, and how "not to get into trouble" www.sbcsar.com Join us to learn more this Friday!   Once again hearts melted as Mr. Fallin turned our tasting room into a night to remember Saturday! As audience members we laughed, healed, and became inspired by Austin's musical styling:) It is extremely safe to say Miss Sonja and I have become fans for life.

R.S.V.P Now by replying to this email atsmee@casadumetzwines.com Join us at Babi's Tasting Room where Joan Adams, maiden name Joan Olsen, was a young 18-year old woman from Elk Grove, California, who made a tremendous impact in becoming the first female air force cadet.  She was the first woman to enter any of the military service academies.  In so doing, she changed the face of the academies forever - and heard from hundreds of people around the country on how they felt about her mission - both positive and negative.  Joan will share her experiences and her perspectives on making those decisions - both from the viewpoint of a young woman radically making a change in a radically changing world and from an adult woman today 35 years later.  She will also discuss the excitement and anxiety of her first day and the media coverage that ensued, the life of an air force cadet, the ins and outs of basic training and the wisdom she learned that has guided her through the rest of her career - and life. Join us this Friday and become inspired. Small changes make big differences.

Happy Labor Day!

Hello All-
   We wanted to take a moment on this beautiful Monday to wish everyone a very happy Memorial Day from Babi's Tasting Room. It was a fantastic weekend here in Los Alamos, complete with positive energy, Full of Life Flatbread's fig and prosciutto pizza, lots of smiles, and of course some fantastic wine. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a very memorable holiday weekend for Casa Dumetz. Here are just a few of our fabulous folks that joined in on the fun!
